Happy Monday! Also known as my Dad’s Birthday!

Dad and I

Happy Birthday Dad! You don’t look a day over 30. Today, I want to show you all how special my dad is to me….

Dad and I

…he has always been my coach – on the field/court and in life…

Dad and I

…I get my style from him…

Dad and I

…he truly does love me. I converted him from a die hard U of M fan to a ND fan. That is true love…

Dad and I

…he loves to wear pink! Real men wear pink…

Dad and I

Thank you dad for being the man in my life that has always been there for me. Your love and support has gotten me through, and I can not thank you enough. I am so lucky and honored to call you my DAD! XOXO

Thanks for letting me share all of those photos! Now onto weekend snapshots…and come back this afternoon for a Meatless Monday recipe! I am going to keep with the theme of this post and keep loading you with lots of pictures.

FRIDAY

After work my friends, Merrick and Kelly, went to Untitled and Three Dots and a Dash to celebrate! Untitled was such a cool place – it had a speakeasy theme. On Friday nights there is live music too! This Friday was MoTown night…My Girl…My Girl…Talking ‘Bout My Girl!

Three Dots and a Dash

After some live music we tried to forget that there was a polar vortex outside by sipping on some tropical beverages at Three Dots and a Dash. Chicago Readers: If you are looking to go on a tropical vacation…save your money and go to Three Dots and a Dash. There drinks are delicious and oh so strong.

SATURDAY

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I went to Southwest Michigan to the wineries on Saturday…

I am going to recap the entire trip tomorrow for the Tried it Tuesday link-up! I can’t wait to share some of my new favorite wines and tell you more about tour we took.

SUNDAY

Sunday morning I met up with Susie – which was long overdue – at Lululemon for yoga [keeping to my 2015 goals]!

After yoga we went to Blue Door for brunch, so we could catch up on each others lives, and eat yummy food. I had the Pitchfork. Which was…Sunny side Eggs, Michigan Turkey, Gruyere, Swiss, Havarti, Cranberry Apple Preserve set atop Multigrain Toast with Petite Greens. I hope your mouth is watering because mine is as I type it. It was zoo good and will going back weekend after weekend for it. Susie had the Cobb salad which also look delish. It was piled high with goodie. Check out the menu here!

After a blab fest with Susie I went grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods….sometimes a girl has to treat herself to flowers. On Wednesday I am going to post about ‘my’ approach to grocery shopping.

After cleaning my apartment and meal prepping I headed out for a long run late in the afternoon. I am definitely a morning workout person so getting out later in the day was tough, but I had a great run. And I got to take in views like this!

Golden Globes

As I caught up on blog work and got ready for the week ahead I watched the Golden Globes. I am not going to lie I barely watched any of it. It was more for noise in the background. I shut the TV off by 9 and continued to binge watch Parenthood.

Today I am linking up with Erin for Weekend Snapshots and Katie for Marvelous Monday. I hope you guys have a MARVELOUS start to your week and see you guys in a bit for a great recipe!

QUESTIONS

  • What was a highlight from your weekend?
  • Did you watch the Golden Globes? What did you think? Who was your best dressed? Worst dressed?
Best Dressed: Krissy Teigen [I loved the detail. A little see through at parts, but really pretty]
Worst Dressed: Kerry Washington [I hate to say this because I love her]
